Dodgers Sign Cole Percival, Son of Former All-Star Closer Troy Percival (Dodgers Nation)



Although it has not been announced by the team, the Dodgers appear to be adding to their minor league depth. Los Angeles is known to be high on pitching prospects, and they went after another one this week.

Cole Percival in the son of former Angels’ closer Troy Percival. Troy is the Angels’ all-time leader in saves with 316 through 10 years with the team. The Dodgers appear to have scooped up his son out of the University of California in Riverside

Cole pitched pretty decently in what would turn out to be a very shortened 2020 college season. Across 24 innings of work, he pitched to a 3.38 earned run average and tallied 19 strikeouts against 8 walks. The Dodgers will slot him into a farm system that thrives on building up young pitching.
