The Dodgers needed this series win in San Diego more than you might think. After seeing their lead dwindle to just 1.5 games in the NL West after Monday’s loss, Los Angeles rebounded for two very good wins over a powerful Padres’ lineup.
Mookie Betts absolutely came to play, and he ran wild against the Padres’ defense. Betts stole three bases in the win, the first Dodgers player to steal three bags in a game since Trayce Thompson did it in 2016.

AJ Pollock also reached a milestone in his career, launching the 100th homerun of his career in the 2nd inning to give the Dodgers the lead. Pollock got most of the homeruns playing with the Diamondbacks obviously.
Keepin’ it ?.

Will Smith added to the huge year that he is putting together and also helped put the Dodgers up 5-1 at the right time. The Padres would not rebound from that dagger, even though it was just the 5th inning.
Splitting the gap for two! #Dodgers
