If Aaron Boone ever loses his touch as a manager, he may have a future job in sports betting.
The Yankees bench boss sent out a tweet at 6:03 p.m. Sunday night saying he was “goin [with] the Chiefs 31-20,” echoing the prediction he made in The Post on Saturday. A little after four hours later, Kansas City wrapped up a 31-20 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 2020.
Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs’ comeback after trailing 20-10 to get Chiefs coach Andy Reid his first Super Bowl title. It was the Chiefs’ first Super Bowl win in 50 years.
Boone congratulated Reid in a tweet after the game and made sure to point out his accurate prediction.
“Happy for Andy Reid! Now let’s go play some baseball. #Yankees #springtraining #31-20 #mybad #SBLIV
Boone is only days away from spring training beginning in Tampa as he tries to lead the Yankees to their own championship, which would be their first since 2009.
