Dodgers: Alex Wood Reacts to LA Return on Social Media (Dodgers Nation)



After reportedly inking a 1-year, $4M deal with the Dodgers on Sunday, Alex Wood was excited to return to where he had spent the majority of his major league career.

The 29 year-old re-joins Los Angeles after spending one injury-riddled season with the Cincinnati Reds. After being traded along with Yasiel Puig in the 2018-2019 off-season, Wood made only 7 starts with the Reds while rebounding from a back injury suffered during spring training.

Moreover, “Woody” re-joins some of his best friends in the game. Teammates Ross Stripling and Justin Turner among others formed strong friendships with Alex during his four years in LA.

Additionally, Wood’s return marks an opportunity to complete some unfinished business. A 2017 All-Star for the Dodgers, Wood was the game 4 starter for LA in Houston against the Astros in the 2017 World Series. That was the only home game Houston lost all postseason, which we later learned was surrounded in controversy after it was revealed that the Astros were illegally stealing signs using cameras in center field.
