Corey Kluber is on the move.
The Texas Rangers are in agreement to acquire the veteran right-hander from the Cleveland Indians, The Post’s Joel Sherman confirmed.
Kluber, 33, is a two-time AL Cy Young Award winner and a three-time All-Star. He made just seven starts in 2019 after suffering an arm fracture from being hit by a line drive.
But in 2018, Kluber won 20 games for the first time in his career while registering a 2.89 ERA and 222 strikeouts in 215 innings. In 160 starts from 2014-18, Kluber went 83-45 with a 2.85 ERA and 1228 strikeouts in 1091 1/3 innings. His Cy Youngs came in 2014 and 2017.
Kluber had his $17.5 million club option for 2020 picked up earlier this offseason. He also has an $18 million club option for 2021.
The Rangers want to make a splash with the opening of a new ballpark in Arlington, and acquiring Kluber certainly qualifies.
