Brett Gardner is staying in pinstripes.
Two days after the Yankees made their $324 million Gerrit Cole splash, the Yankees reached an agreement with Gardner on a one-year deal with a 2021 option, The Post’s George A. King III and Joel Sherman report. Gardner is guaranteed $12.5 million as he’ll earn $10 million in 2019, and his 2021 option worth $10 million has a $2.5 million buyout.
Gardner, 36, slashed .251/.325/.503 and set career-highs in 2019 with 28 home runs and 74 RBIs in 141 games. He made 94 starts in center field last season.
